What is IPTV - how does it work ?

At a very basic level our servers store your video content on our super-fast, web optimised platforms which streams your video over the net into peoples homes through their PC, Apple Mac, and Set-top boxes.

Delivering, scheduling and all management of the content is handled by our Silvercast Management Station which is fully configurable by the station manager.

Statistics will tell who, whom and what your viewers are watching to enable content to be tailor-made to the target audience.

The Process

Filming and Recording Your Content
You will need to record and film you content digitally and then transfer to your PC and Mac for editing.

The preferred software for editing is Premiere from Adobe (Pc) or Final Cut Pro (Mac).

The content needs to be encoded for uploading via FTP to one of our high-speed MBR encoders.

MBR Encoding and Render

Once your file has been received into one of our hot folders it will be encoded for maximum quality and rendered in a number of formats to cope with the varying download speeds of users and the Internet.

This MBR encoding (Multiple Bit Rate) is critical to make best use of the content and vastly increases the audience.

Scheduling and Distributing

After your content is converted to a streaming format you must upload it to our servers.

Our servers store your video content on super-fast platforms which are optimised for streaming over the net and connected via industrial-strength terabyte lines.

Delivering, scheduling and all management of the content is handled by the back end MSSQL databases, which are totally configurable by the station manager.

Statistics will tell who, whom and what your viewers are watching to enable content to be tailor-made to the target audience.

Delivering Your Media To Your Audience

We have developed the Silvercast system to be compatible with all platforms including PC, MAC and Linux.

We support most browsers and the intelligent MBR encoding will adjust “on the fly” the bandwidth to maximise the enjoyment and quality of the transmission.

You can select from Free View, Pay Per View, Subscription models or a combination giving you complete flexibility over your broadcast revenues.
